I be Cap’n Walt Boozer, known ashore as Walter Castagno, born in the year o’ 1974. I’ve been raisin’ my voice and swingin’ my instruments on stage since 1991. Me main weapon be me voice, but I can also wield the bodhran, guitarrr, bass, harmonica, and a few other treasures of the trade. Few masters have I had, nay, almost none — the sea and the stage have been me teachers.
I’ve sailed with many a crew, stormin’ stages from taverns to grand festivals, both at home and across foreign shores. Me past ships include: Epoché (progressive hard-rock), The Wild Slugs (Irish folk), Ciapagrolle (Celtic punk), Brigada Pirata (pirate folk), and Ciaparat ‘d le Grange (punk rock).
Among the festivals I’ve plundered: Pirates im Julich (Germany), Triskell Celtic Festival (Italy), ElfFest (Italy), Mercantia (Italy), Beltane (Italy), R.P.C. Koeln (Germany), all undarrr the proud Jolly Roger o’ the Brigada Pirata!
Me name aboard Chaos Pirata be Quartarrrmastarrr Dartmore, known ashore as Dario Castagno, youngest son o’ Captain Walt Boozer. I was born in tha year o’ 2010, an’ the Cap’n first hauled me onto the stage when I were but 11 summarrrs old.
Me main weapon be tha drums — I chose ‘em fer the chance to keep meself hidden at the back o’ the deck. I first took to the sticks at the age o’ 9, and still chart me course in a music school, learnin’ the craft proparrr.
I’ve manned the drums with Ciaparat ‘d le Grange, an’ now with the Ciapariot. But with Chaos Pirata, I set me hands on tha tin whistle, for I had a knack for the recorder back in me school days — so now I play these whistles with ease, guidin’ the wind through our shanties.
